The starter relays, also known as solenoids, automatic or magnetic switches, have the function of energizing the starter motor and advancing the starter drive. Relays do this by generating a magnetic field with electricity received from the battery and ignition switch, which moves the plunger and moves the drive, also closing the electrical contact between the battery and the starter motor. Through this mechanism, the starter drive is activated and engages in the flywheel to start the vehicle.
